NY Fed President on Iran War Impact, Inflation
For the second time this month, New York Fed President John Williams expressed concern about the Iran war’s impact on the economy, saying it already has shown signs of slowing growth and raising prices. While he generally expressed confidence that growth would continue and inflation would ease through the year in his speech Thursday, Williams said there are threats to both sides of the Fed’s dual mandate for stable prices and low unemployment.
What could mortgage interest rates look like by the end of 2026? Here's what some experts predict
Despite some declines at the start of 2026, mortgage rates have been on their way up in recent weeks. In early March, the average rate on 30-year mortgages was just 5.75%, according to Zillow data. As of April 15, it had jumped to 6.12%. It might not sound like much, but when average home prices clock in at over $400,000, even a quarter of a percentage point can mean paying tens of thousands more in interest over the life of the loan.

Promotion Announcement
We are pleased to announce the promotion of Robert W. McKinley to Head of Enterprise Sales and Portfolio Management at Selene.
Over the past five years, Robert has served as Senior Vice President, Enterprise Sales, where he drove client growth and expanded third-party sales within our subservicing platform. In his new role, he will oversee enterprise-wide growth initiatives across Selene’s businesses and lead our portfolio management function. Robert brings a proven ability to build trusted client partnerships and translate market insight into scalable solutions, while continuing to enhance client satisfaction and advance technology, reporting and processes across the platform. We’re excited for what’s ahead and grateful for Robert’s continued leadership and client-first approach.
