As we observe Native American Heritage Month, we take the opportunity to honor the rich culture and significant contributions of our Native American and Indigenous colleagues at Selene. Native Americans and Indigenous Peoples have played an integral role in shaping our nation's history and society. Today, they represent a population of 9.7 million, accounting for 2.9% of the U.S. population (U.S. Census data). There are 574 federally recognized Native American tribes across the United States.

Mortgage Delinquencies Decrease Slightly in the Third Quarter of 2024, Up on Annual Basis
The delinquency rate for mortgage loans on one-to-four-unit residential properties decreased slightly to a seasonally adjusted rate of 3.92 percent of all loans outstanding at the end of the third quarter of 2024 compared to one year ago, according to the Mortgage Bankers Association’s (MBA) National Delinquency Survey.

Mortgage Rate Changes Loom Amid Fed Rate Cuts & Trump Presidency
The Federal Reserve cut interest rates for the second time this year, following the sizable 0.5% cut in September. Though the Fed was already set to cut rates at least once more before the end of 2024, the modest 0.25% rate cut targeting 4.5%–4.75% indicates that the central bank is proceeding with caution in light of a Donald Trump Administration.

Selene Supports Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Selene held a full month of activities in Oct sponsored by our Women’s Leadership Resource Group to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We hosted a 40-mile walking challenge to support The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF), a local Dallas Walk for team members in the Dallas area and a Lunch and Learn featuring a courageous guest speaker sharing her breast cancer journey.
